Food Crisis and Food Security: During the early months of 2008, food prices have shot up around the world leading to riots in over 20 developing countries. This is a global crisis that inflicts high costs on the poor in general and women and children who are over-represented among the poor. WGGP's cosponsored Sustainable Biofuels and Human Security Workshop in May [see above] will address these issues.
