World Affairs Corner
T he World Affairs Corner brings Ambassadors, Consuls General and international experts from around the world to speak about business, economic and political issues related to their countries.

Illinois International Television Show
In collaboration with Insight Media, IECP produces Illinois International, a program that brings a heartland focus to the exploration of world affairs and globalization processes. Episodes air on Sunday mornings at 8:00am on the Insight Channel.

World Affairs Council
World affairs councils are non-profit, non-partisan organizations open to all who wish to join.  Started in 1918, the council system has 484,000 members and participants, 86 councils, and 26 affiliates througout the US.  Councils operate on membership dues, corporate sponsorships, grants, in-kind donations, fundraising events, and fee-for-service activities.  Over 2,000 corporations, foundations, and individuals support council work.

The council system has the biggest international affairs speakers’ program in the country with over 2,500 events each year.  Councils also run international exchanges, school programs, teachers’ workshops, model UNs, foreign policy discussions, national opinion polls, travel programs, young professionals’ programs, conferences, corporate programs, journals, newspaper columns, and local radio and television programs.  The system has five flagship programs:  World in Transition, Great Decisions, the NPR radio program It’s Your World, Academic WorldQuest and Travel the World.

International Information and Speakers Service
IECP coordinates the International Speakers Service, a program that identifies faculty experts on international issues for the media, government, educators and the public. As part of this service, IECP maintains a list of faculty experts in various disciplines. For more information, contact IECP.

Consuls General Program
As part of its diplomatic engagement initative, IECP coordinates one-day campus visits for Consuls General serving in Chicago. IECP strives to encourage new programmatic connections for these consulates and campus units. For more information, contact IECP.

Information for International Students
Aimed at prospective international students, this Web site showcases the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus. The site provides an overview of the resources, faculty and opportunities available at the Urbana campus as well as information about the community, student life, and student services.

Illinois International DVD
The new Illinois International DVD provides a visual overview of the international dimension of Illinois. Divided into three sections, the first gives a broad overview of programs, colleges, and research under headings such as “Global Food” “Global Technology” and “Global Health.”  The second section highlights University libraries, labs, and studio space, resources.  The final section includes interviews with friends of the University.
